Alyssa Anderson’s efforts as a setter and outside hitter for the Tucker volleyball team will be missed.

“She is a great individual and a hard worker,” Tucker coach Robin Potter said. She’s self motivated—you don’t have to tell her to go out and work on anything. A great leader verbally and through her efforts. She will be impossible to replace.”

Unfortunately due to a 3-2 shortcoming against Houston County in the first round of the Class AAAAA playoffs last Thursday, the Lady Tigers (27-17) season came to an end.

Even though Tucker had another successful campaign on the hardwood, the senior Anderson had to adjust from setting others up to being set up for points.

“I have improved in passing and hitting,” Anderson said. “I’ve always been the setter on the team but this year they needed me to hit and I’ve been able to read the court better and the hitters on the opposite team.”

“She runs this team,” said Potter jokingly. “It is kind of her team. I am just here to help.”

As far as volleyball on the next level that is up in the air for Anderson but she plans to play with the Atlanta Boom for an eighth season. She will also be studying to improve her 4.1 grade-point average and eventually deciding where she would like to major in biomedical engineering.
