Runoffs are likely in at least three races where five candidates are running.
In the Atlanta mayoral election, incumbent Kasim Reed faces Al Bartell, Fraser Duke and Glenn Wrightson and write-in candidate John Benson.
Most of the other local Atlanta races involve head-to-head elections, but there are two three-person City Council campaigns. In District 6, Tracey Austin, Mike Boyle and incumbent Alex Wan are facing off, and Abid Haque, Bobby Montgomery and incumbent Howard Shook are battling in District 7.
In the Atlanta Board of Education’s Seat 8 at-large race, Cynthia Briscoe Brown, incumbent Reuben McDaniel, Mark Riley, Tom Tidwell and Dave Walker are facing off.
In the Sandy Springs elections, Bob Brown and Rusty Paul are battling to replace incumbent Eva Galambos, who is not seeking re-election.
A runoff is likely in store in the District 6 campaign, where Andy Bauman, Patty Berkovitz, Jennifer Steele, John Stoj and Sonja Tonpea face off. Incumbent Karen Meinzen McEnerny is not running for re-election.
All other Sandy Springs council races involve head-to-head battles.
Tuesday, the polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
