Update: Henry polls closed on time at 7 p.m. Results will begin to come in around 9 or 9:30 p.m., according to Director of Elections Janet Shellnut. McDonough will be first, Locust Grove will be second, Stockbridge third and Hampton plus the county SPLOST vote will be last.

City elections in Henry County are still steadily moving along according to Director of Elections Janet Shellnut.

She said Stockbridge has experienced the most activity with about 725 votes cast thus far.

"McDonough at about 600 votes and Locust Grove and Hampton are slower with only about 350 votes combined," Shellnut said.

Although she said there have been lines at some of the polls, voting is running smoothly.

"People are only waiting in lines of about eight people, so they are getting through quickly," Shellnut said.

She said the county precinct were averaging about 200 votes per poll at 3:00 p.m.

"We're still seeing plenty of voters turning out and we think it will be steady until 7 p.m. when voting stops," Shellnut said.
