Atlanta Chamber Players founder and Artistic Managing Director Paula Peace has announced her retirement effective in early 2015, the players announced Friday in a news release.

Peace has led the organization for 38 seasons. During her tenure the group has performed in more than 250 cities in the U.S. and Europe and has premiered more than 125 chamber works.

“The entire ACP family is sad to see Paula leave us,” players board President Jim Throckmorton said. “Through her vision and leadership the ACP creates and presents chamber music to the very highest levels of acclaim. The Board has been working with Paula for more than two years to prepare for this moment and we are sure that her legacy can be continued for at least another 38 years.”

The board is launching a nationwide search to identify the organization’s next leader. This position is full time with a proposed start date of July 1 and reports to the players’ board.
