The Sandy Springs Police Department Friday announced Terry Marquis Hicks, 40, wanted for the physical assault and rape of a 33-year-old female acquaintance Nov. 4, was arrested Friday, according to an update on its Facebook page. The incident took place at the Hunters Glen Apartments, 8601 Roberts Drive. He was captured and taken into custody Friday in East Point. Hicks was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in conjunction with an investigation with Sandy Springs Police.
Hicks and the victim left the Taboo 2 bar in Sandy Springs along with another female who soon left the location, leaving the victim and Hicks alone. He then brutally assaulted the victim, causing numerous severe injuries including a broken jaw, said Capt. Steve Rose, a Sandy Springs Police spokesman.
“This is an example of combined agencies working together and pooling their resources to achieve a very important goal, which was to get this brutal individual off the streets. Our detectives worked 24/7 on this case and again shows why we’re so proud of the men and women of this department,” Sandy Springs Police Chief Ken DeSimone said.
Hicks was taken to the department’s Criminal Investigation Division where he was interviewed. He was later transferred to the Fulton County Jail with no bond. A hearing date is yet to be set.
