Since becoming the starting quarterback for North Paulding last season, senior Chase Noonan has become one of the most proficient passers in the state of Georgia. He had his best effort of the season on Nov. 1 when the signal caller threw for a career-high 460 yards and six touchdowns in North Paulding’s crucial 62-46 road win over Allatoona.

“We focused hard in practice and watched film to find the holes in Allatoona’s defense,” Noonan said. “We set a good game plan to go against their defense.”

Head coach Scott Jones said, “Chase shows a lot of poise and the kids respond to his play.”

Noonan has passed for 2,125 yards and 25 touchdowns along with seven rushing scores this season. The Wolfpack finished the regular season 9-1 and won the Region 5-AAAAA title in only its fourth season of playing varsity football.

“It means a lot to the school to bring home a championship,” Noonan said. “This senior group has been here since the beginning and we worked hard in the offseason.”

The Wolfpack will open the playoffs this Friday at home against Riverwood.

“Our focus must be at an all-time high but also have fun as well,” Noonan said. “Any team can win in the playoffs.”

Noonan also plays on the varsity basketball and baseball teams at North Paulding and is a member of the Student Athletic Leadership Team (SALT). He plans to major in forensic science upon entering college next fall.
