The 5-foot-8, 152-pound junior tailback continued his solid play in the Hornets’ 17-10 loss to Lassiter Nov. 1 as he rushed for 101 yards and scored on a 5-yard run to provide most of the team’s scoring.
In his second year as a varsity player, Slade leads the team in rushing with 790 yards and has scored seven touchdowns for the Hornets, who finished the season with a 4-6 record.
Slade has also rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown in Roswell’s 22-18 victory over Woodstock Oct. 11 and 87 yards and two touchdowns in the Hornets’ 34-29 loss to Cherokee Oct. 25.
Roswell coach John Ford praises the impact Slade has had on the team as well as his effort.
“He is a competitive player who brings everything he has to the field on Friday night,” Ford said.
