Odyssey is a summer academic enrichment program targeting students in grades two through 12 with unmet potential. This partnership between the Atlanta Public Schools and Westminster is a nonprofit focusing on economically disadvantaged students.
The event is Odyssey’s primary fundraiser of the year, and draws several hundred Atlantans who share a commitment to educational access for all of Atlanta’s youth. The 2014 event will honor the outgoing Westminster Schools President William Clarkson IV, as well as John F. Sandy Smith, a partner at Womble Carlyle. A recent Odyssey graduate will also speak. There will also be an auction and a raffle for a trip to London.
Odyssey challenges, motivates, and equips its students to exceed their academic goals while preparing them for high school graduation and college.
The annual brunch helps make it possible for 300 students to attend this life-changing program for free. Events leading up to the brunch include:
o The Shopping Night at Neiman Marcus at Lenox Square in Buckhead Dec. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. It is open to the public but RSVP is required.
o A patron party Jan. 23 at the home of Melissa and Craig Allen.
Brunch tickets generally sell out in the fall so interested parties are encouraged to purchase them early.
