(UPDATED AT 2:18 P.M. SUNDAY WITH CONFIRMATION HARRIS’ BODY WAS FOUND)

The body of an Atlanta woman missing for a week was found Saturday in Henry County.

Lucilla Rawsaw Harris, 72, of Atlanta’s Thomasville Heights community, had been missing since Nov. 23, and a missing persons report was filed with the Atlanta Police Department by her family.

Harris’ family said she was last seen in her car, a gray Saturn Ion with Georgia tag number AVH 3948. She had dementia and may have been cold and confused, according to a missing persons advisory emailed to the media last week by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were asking the public for help in finding Harris.

Sgt. Joey Smith, a spokesman for the Henry County Police Department, said in a phone interview Sunday Harris’ body was found Saturday off Breezewood Court in Stockbridge. He also said her body was discovered near where her vehicle had been found earlier in the week.

“It was in the same subdivision,” Smith said. “It was very close.”
