His prediction was further supported with regard to Black Friday, the official opening of the Christmas shopping season.
“Although we had some of our mall stores open as early as 8 p.m. last night but, by midnight when the entire mall officially opened, our parking area was 93 to 94 percent full,” Ball said.
With the early opening of the mall at midnight and the crowds that turned out then, Ball said mall traffic this morning had been impacted somewhat.
“At 10 a.m. this morning, our parking area was 70 percent full,” he said.
Ball expected the shopping crowds to increase throughout Black Friday as the mall is open until 10 p.m. today.
“We expect to have good shopping crowds throughout the weekend,” he added, as the mall will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
