The 5-foot-10, 157-pound junior gave a big boost to the Lions’ running game as well in their 35-12 Class AA semifinal win over Brooks County at Kilpatrick Stadium Dec. 6.
Lee rushed for 79 yards on 17 carries and scored a touchdown on a 4-yard run in the third quarter to lead Lovett to the AA finals — its first trip to the state championship game since 2007.
For the season, Lee has rushed for 266 yards on 49 carries and has scored three touchdowns and has also returned three kickoffs for 18 yards and caught four passes for 35 yards.
“He’s been a special teams superstar for us,” Lovett coach Mike Muschamp said. “He really stepped up for us against Brooks County and did a great job at running back. He’s a very natural player running the football. He makes great plays and makes good decisions. It’s been a lot of fun to watch him develop into the player that he is right now.”
