Started as a Sandy Springs Christmas gift beacon in 1989 to give thousands of caring families a chance to help the acclaimed nonprofit Northside Hospital Cancer Institute honor patients and give aid to cancer research and treatment close to home, the expanded highway vision now shines on three campuses.
Each light on the great trees (nearly 200,000 lights in total) represents someone whose life has been touched by cancer.
Lights can be purchased and designated in honor or memory of family, friends, patients and physicians. Festive cards designed by a local student will be sent to loved ones. All donated proceeds go directly to assist cancer patients and families in need of medical care, medicine, transportation and lodging. The lights will shine through December and all donations are tax-deductible.
