The Sandy Springs Police Department has arrested a suspect in the case of a deadly shooting Christmas Day, Capt. Steve Rose, a department spokesman, said in a series of emails to the media Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Police units and detectives were on the scene at the Parc of Dunwoody apartments, 1079 Brentwood Way in Sandy Springs, investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday just after 6 p.m.

Gregory Parson, the victim, died Wednesday at about 10 p.m. at North Fulton Hospital in Roswell after being shot in the stomach. The suspect, Demetrius Dunn, 25, of Clayton County, is in police custody and will be charged with one count of murder. The shooting appears to have been motivated by a dispute over money owed, Rose said.
