The honor was created to highlight ways in which young theater students involved with the festival are giving back to their communities. A panel of adjudicators reviewed submissions from across the country and selected five finalists. Videos describing the charitable activity of the five organizations are posted on www.Playbill.com, where Act3 asks its sup-porters to go and vote. The winning organization will receive a $1,000 prize to use to continue its charitable work.
The cast and crew of Act3’s production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” conducted a book drive to help the Sandy Springs Mission’s after-school program stock its library. More than 300 books were collected and donated for use by the 63 students from Lake Forest Elementary School who attend the enrichment program.
