Provided by Atlanta Police Officer L. Illery and Sandy Springs Capt. Steve Rose

o FLUSHED AWAY: At the Kroger store at 1700 Monroe Drive in Midtown Jan. 16, the suspect was observed selecting items from the store and then took them into the bathroom, where the suspect removed them from their package and attempted to flush the empty container down the toilet.

o KNUCKLEHEADS: At the BP convenience store at 1176 Chattahoochee Ave. in Buckhead Jan. 16, eight to 10 black males in a Ford Econoline attempted to ram the vehicle into the store. When the van got stuck on the pole after the second attempt, the suspects fled the vehicle and entered a late ’90s white Nissan sedan. The suspects never entered the store. Video surveillance footage showed four black males with black masks over their faces fleeing the scene; two ran north and two ran south.

o CONNECT THE DOTS: At a specialty store at 339 Buckhead Ave. in Buckhead Jan. 14, the victim left a petty cash envelop under the front counter of the business. The victim returned the following day to notice the envelope and cash were missing. The victim told police an employee had not showed up for work for two days after the theft and had not answered the phone.

o CLEAN FREAK: At the Kroger at 4920 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs Jan. 20, the manager said a man came into the store and bought several cleaning supplies and then left without paying for them. He left in silver BMW. The tag was obtained and the theft is being followed up.

o THE VALET TRICK: At a parking garage at 3377 Peachtree Road near the W Hotel in Buckhead Jan. 18, the victim had his black 2010 Toyota Highlander retrieved to clean it out. After finishing, a male the victim had assumed was a valet attendant drove off in the vehicle and did not return. Video surveillance footage only captured the suspect’s back. One pair each of Oakley and Ray Bans sunglasses, an iPhone charger and earrings were inside the vehicle when it was stolen. The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, short hair and wearing a dark jacket.

o BUSTED: At an apartment complex at 740 Sidney Marcus Blvd. in Buckhead Jan. 18, two black males approached a woman walking to her apartment and pointed a silver gun, demanding she drop her bag. The suspects took the victim’s purse and white 1996 Jeep Cherokee. The vehicle was later recovered in Zone 1 at 1064 Cato St., with the stolen purse in the backseat. The suspects were later located in Zone 1, at 1074 Gun Club Road, and taken into custody.

o BEER RUN: At the Publix on the corner of Abernathy and Roswell roads Jan. 22, two men filled a grocery cart with beer and then tried to flee the store. The staff noticed the attempt and pursued. The men abandoned the cart and fled in a black SUV. The two men were described as black males in their 20s. The car was a black GMC Denali.

o ONE ANGRY EX-WIFE: A man in Sandy Springs reported he checked his bank account and found his ex-wife had cashed five checks from his account by forging his name. He called her but she refused to discuss it. The total came to just more than $200.

The names and charges above are from area arrest warrants and crime reports. A warrant is merely an accusation of a crime and accused people are innocent until proven guilty.
