The 6-foot-3 guard averages nearly 20 points, five rebounds and five assists per contest for the Cougars. He posted a season-high 33 points along with six rebounds and six steals in Alexander’s 73-56 win over Carrollton on Jan. 14.
“Hassani has played really well and picked up his defense,” head coach Jason Slate said.
Hassani, who will attend Gardner-Webb of the Big South Conference this upcoming fall, credits hard work for his success.
“I go to practice every day and try to play my game as expected,” Hassani said. “We’ve come together as a team and have to keep working hard to reach our goals. I stress to the younger guys that they can never stop working and always get better,” he stated.
Hassani has been a member of the Leadership Academy and Health Occupations Students of America, an organization for future health professionals, while at Alexander. He plans to pursue a career in physical therapy, dentistry or anesthesiology.
The Cougars return to action on Friday against Sandy Creek.
