Since dropping its opening contest of the season, the Harvester Christian Academy’s girls’ basketball team has won 13 consecutive contests through Nov. 30, placing the Hawks in first place in their region within the Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association. Sophomore Brittany Law has been a catalyst for the team’s success.

The forward has averaged nearly eight points and eight rebounds per contest this season while grabbing more than two steals along with two blocks.

“Brittany displays character and teamwork on the court and in the classroom,” head coach Jackie Lee said. “She never has a bad attitude and always has something encouraging for her teammates.”

Law, who has attended Harvester since kindergarten, credits teammates for her success.

“This season has been going well and we’re a close unit that works well, building off each other,” Law said.

“When you play with your best friends through time, you know how everyone works together.”

Law is a member of the softball and cheer teams at Harvester while also participating in the Beta and Key clubs. She plans to pursue a career in physical therapy or pediatrics.

“I love sports and it would be good to help people in the field,” she said.

The Hawks will begin play in their region tournament on Friday with the opponent and location yet to be determined.
