The junior scored 573.65 points to win by a decisive margin over runner-up Grant Summers of St. Pius X (480.70) and claim his second consecutive A-AAAAA diving title.
It’s the third year in a row that Moncino has earned a top-two state finish, placing runner-up in A-AAAAA as a freshman in 2012.
It was another successful season for Moncino, who also won the diving competition at the prestigious Madeline Brown Invitational at Emory University Dec. 12 – setting a new meet record with 588.90 points in the process.
He is currently the school record-holder in both the six-dive (342.95) and 11-dive (599.95) events and has earned All-American honors from the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association each of his first two years.
“We are very proud of Harrison,” Pace swimming coach John Ague said. “He steps up to the challenge with a lot of pride. He is our first two-time state champion in the [Pace] swimming and diving program.”
