Fulton County to host seminars on new hotel/motel rules

New rules set forth by the Georgia Department of Public Health and adopted by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners are now in effect governing the operation of hotels and motels, the county announced Tuesday.

The regulations spell out new definitions and requirements in a number of areas, including inspections, permitting, sanitizing, toilet facilities, sewage disposal, construction layout and furnishings and food service.

In January, the county’s Environmental Health Services Division mailed to all owners and operators informational brochures which give details of the new rules. The seminars being held by the division offer an opportunity to receive further clarification of the new and/or expanded responsibilities of those in the tourist accommodation industry.

This week’s sessions will take place at two locations:

o North Fulton Service Center, Conference Room 212, 7741 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, Wednesday at 1 p.m.

o Aldredge Health Center, fourth-floor Large Conference Room, 99 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive in Atlanta, Thursday at 10 a.m.
