The 6-foot-2 junior guard was once again at the forefront as he helped lead the Knights to the Region 6A tournament championship.
Beasley scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead St. Francis to a 53-45 victory over North Cobb Christian in the 6A tournament title game last Monday after accumulating 21 points and seven rebounds in a 67-22 semifinal win over Trion Feb. 15 and scoring 19 points in a 92-26 defeat of Gordon Lee Feb. 13.
Beasley has been productive on both the offensive and defensive sides -- leading the Knights in scoring with 18.7 point a game and steals with 2.1 per contest. He is also third on the team in rebounding with 8.1 a game.
Although still only a junior, Beasley became the first St. Francis player to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career when he scored 25 points in a 74-70 loss to Providence Day (N.C.) in the Hilton Invitational Jan. 25.
“He is definitely a leader for us on and off the floor,” St. Francis coach Cabral Huff said. “He demands the best of himself and his fellow teammates as he leaves it on the floor every night.”
