In Douglas County’s 84-47 victory over Colquitt County in the first round of the playoffs on Feb. 21, Faust scored a game-high 28 points. She had a season-high 29 points against North Cobb in the Tigers’ 69-52 win in the second round on Feb. 24.
“My teammates relied on me more and I had to be a leader,” Faust said. “Everybody came together as a team and we worked hard on our weaknesses.”
Faust averaged 14 points along with nearly five steals and three assists per contest this season.
“I’ve really improved from my first two years to now by practicing and working to get better,” Faust said.
The Tigers’ season concluded on Feb. 27 with an 82-51 loss to McEachern but the team has already looked towards the future.
“This season was great but we’ll have to continue to work hard and hopefully bring home a state championship next year.”
Faust will spend this spring on the Tigers’ track team participating in the 100-meter dash and long jump events. She is also a member of the Douglasville Tigers AAU basketball team and will pursue a career as a lawyer.
