“I’d like to go out with a region championship then go far in state,” said Bailey, the daughter of girls’ soccer coach Mike Bailey.
“She’s been a solid defender the whole time,” Bailey said. “She isn’t afraid to go after the ball and been able to shut down people. She’s always up for a challenge and that is nice to see.”
After this season, Bailey will join the women’s program at Covenant College.
“Covenant just seemed to be the best fit for me,” said Bailey, who also considered Shorter. “I liked the soccer aspect of it. When I visited the campus, I felt like I was going to fit in with the people there. It just seemed like my type of environment.”
While in Lookout Mountain, Bailey, who has a 4.2 grade-point average, plans to major in early childhood education and minor in Spanish.
“I know it’s going to be harder but I’m looking forward to improving in the game that I love to play,” Bailey said.
Bailey has been a member of the varsity squad since the eighth grade.
“It’s fun and tough sometimes being the coach’s kid but he’s a great coach and I respect him,” Bailey said.
