With the holiday falling on a Monday this year, plenty of venues are choosing to celebrate the Saturday before.
Meehan’s Public House hosts Sham Rock and Roll at its Sandy Springs location at 227 Sandy Springs Place Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m.
Come early for a St. Baldrick’s head-shaving fundraiser from noon to 4:30 p.m.
“Our goal this year is to raise, for the first time, over $100,000,” said David Levins, director of operations. “The most important part of the day is for people to come out and join us for St. Baldrick’s, grab some great food, have a good time and raise money to help children’s cancer research.”
There will also be a variety of music acts outdoors with Ed Roland & The Sweet Tea Project billed as the main act for the night.
Meehan’s Atlantic Station restaurant will be a part of the Sham Rock The Station celebration Saturday starting at 2 p.m. Events will take place in and around Atlantic Station’s Central Park. There will be music, arts, crafts, face painting, hair painting, sand art and more.

St. Patrick’s Parade
Atlanta’s 132nd St. Patrick’s Parade will be held in Midtown Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m.
This family friendly parade will feature various Irish groups integral to Atlanta’s Irish community, the Budweiser Clydesdales, bagpipe and drum corps, floats, bands and more.
The route will run down Peachtree Street from 16th Street to 5th Street.
The Masquerade Music Park, 695 North Ave. in Atlanta, will host the ShamRock Food and Music Festival Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
There will be live music, food trucks, vendors, a mechanical bull, green beer, a full bar, prizes and more. Attendees are invited to wear St. Patrick’s Day party attire. General admission tickets are $19.95.
Fado Irish Pub
Fado Irish Pub, 273 Buckhead Ave. in Buckhead, hosts its 18th annual St. Patrick’s Day Outdoor Block Party Saturday and Monday.
The celebration will include a full line-up of European sports, Irish dancers, traditional bag pipers, an appearance by the Budweiser Clydesdales, live music and food and drink stations. The outdoor events kick off at noon each day but doors to the pub open even earlier.
Rí Rá Irish Pub, 1080 Peachtree St. in Midtown, will host a St. Patrick’s Day festivals Saturday and Monday starting at 1 p.m.
Come out both days for a different line-up of entertainment.
Also come out to the restaurant Thursday at 4 p.m. for a St. Baldrick’s Day event where participants will shave their heads for a fundraiser to support children with cancer.
Andrews Ent. District
Andrews Entertainment District and Jezebel present a St. Patrick’s Day party Saturday from noon to 3 a.m.
There will be live music at Stillhouse and additional tunes spun by two DJs. Partygoers can drink $1.50 green beer all day.
Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door. Those who use the coupon code “LUCKY” get free entry into the party before 4 p.m.
Going along with the festivities, Stout Irish Pub will host Kegs and Eggs on Saturday and Monday. Doors open at 6 a.m.
The entertainment district is at 56 E. Andrews Drive in Buckhead.
Olde Blind Dog
Olde Blind Dog, an Irish pub with locations in Brookhaven and Milton, will host St. Patrick’s Day celebrations on Saturday and Monday.
The event is rain or shine — with activities indoors and outdoors — from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. both days. Come early, because admission is $10 after 1 p.m.
The celebrations will include live music, drink specials and authentic Irish food. The restaurant will be releasing its very own beer — Sassie Lassie Irish Red Ale — created by Monday Night Brewing.
The Brookhaven location is at 705 Town Blvd.
Limerick Junction Irish Pub, 822 N. Highland Ave. in Atlanta, will host a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Block Party Monday.
Doors to the pub open at noon and Irish music will be playing indoors all day.
Gates to the block party behind the pub will open at 3 p.m. The line-up of live entertainment will include Galen Crader, The Stoneberrys, Sean Thomason, The Stooge Brothers, Reuben’s Bell and Radiomaj. The cost for the block party is $10.
The Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multipurpose Center, 6500 Vernon Woods Drive in Sandy Springs, will host a St. Patrick’s Day celebration March 21 from noon to 2 p.m.
The party will feature entertainment by the Laigh Langley Trio and a menu including corn beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots, baked apples and “lucky charm” cake.
Attendees are encouraged to wear and bring festive holiday gear. Tickets are $5.

The Park Tavern, 500 10th St. in Midtown, will host Luckyfest 2014 starting at 1 p.m. Live music performances will begin at 2 p.m., with DJ-provided music in between live sets.
