The 36th annual event will bring together more than 350 experts in the home remodeling and landscaping industries to showcase the latest products and services for homes of all sizes and styles. This year, for the first time, landscape designer Ahmed Hassan, original host of HGTV’s and DIY Network’s “Yard Crashers,” will entertain attendees with the “Down and Dirty of my Life, Landscaping and Hosting a Reality TV Show.”
He’ll speak Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. from the Reliable Heating & Air Home Show Stage, headlining a roster of speakers who will appear throughout the three-day event. It is owned and produced by SEMCO Productions LLC, a Roswell-based company specializing in trade show production, event marketing and conferences.
“The Spring and Fall Atlanta Home Shows offer homeowners one-stop shopping like no other event,” said show Director and SEMCO President Michael Schoppenhorst. “We provide a fun, festive atmosphere where attendees can see new products demonstrated, ask questions, talk to the experts, comparison shop and enjoy demonstrations by nationally known home and landscape professionals. They can drop in on a cooking demonstration, pick up product samples and schedule appointments for experts to visit their home. Many of the exhibitors offer show specials, which can save attendees up to thousands of dollars if they decide to use an exhibitor’s services.
“We are excited to welcome Ahmed Hassan as our featured speaker for the first time. … One lucky person and a guest will win the opportunity to have brunch with him Saturday. Details on how to enter the contest will be posted on the Atlanta Home Show’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/atlantahomeshow. Plus, one of our attendees will win the door prize, a Kamado Joe Grill, courtesy of Builder Specialties.”
Walter Reeves, the Georgia Gardener, will kick off the speaker schedule Friday at noon. He’ll be followed throughout the show by a number of presenters including HGTV’s Joe Washington and Tonya M. Williams. Topics will include adaptive gardening techniques, beautifying the bathroom, managing humidity in the home, deck-building safety, financing a remodeling project and more.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. General admission tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the show’s entrance. Children 12 and under and adults 65 and older (with ID) are admitted free. Military personnel and first responders receive a free ticket with the purchase of one general admission ticket. Members of Atlanta’s housing industry (Realtors, contractors, interior designers, landscapers, etc.) will be admitted for free (with business card at the show entrance) Friday, compliments of PMC Building Materials.
