The Fulton County Cooperative Extension will celebrate 100 years of extending knowledge and changing lives in the county. Residents can join the extension as it honors the signing of the Smith-Lever Act of 1914 at one of three events planned throughout the county.

For 100 years, the act has stimulated innovative research and vital educational programs for youth and adults through progressive information delivery systems that improved lives and shaped a nation.

Centennial events will be held at 10 a.m. at three locations:

o Palmetto Senior Center, 510 Turner Ave., Palmetto, Tuesday

o North Fulton Service Center, 7144 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, April 15

o Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor St., Atlanta, April 29

The April 29 event will feature a special guest speaker, the Fulton Fresh Mobile Farmer’s Market and a butterfly release signifying 100 years of pollination of information into the lives of Fulton residents.
