St. Francis' Huff honored as Class A top coach

St. Francis coach Cabral Huff was named the Class A boys’ basketball coach of the year by the Georgia Sports Writers Association, which released its All-State basketball teams Monday.

Huff was selected after leading the Knights to the Class A private school state championship this season.

St. Francis also placed several players on the Class A All-State boys’ team. Malik Beasley was selected to the first team, while Kobi Jordan-Simmons and Kaiser Gates were second-team choices.

Alpharetta’s Devontae Cacok and Chattahoochee’s Marcus Sheffield were selected to the Class AAAAAA All-State boys’ second team, while Milton’s Mo Lewis was a AAAAAA honorable mention selection.

Blessed Trinity’s Patrick Lamar was a AAA honorable mention selection.

St. Francis had a couple of players chosen to the Class A girls’ team. Candice Williams was a first-team selection, while Abby Grant was a second-team choice.

Roswell’s Andreona Keys was chosen to the AAAAAA girls’ second team.
