The black-tie optional affair sponsored by Northside Hospital from 6 to 11 p.m. will include a cocktail reception, dinner, an awards program and live music by A-Town Nation.
Brandon Beach, the chamber’s president and CEO, and Freda Hardage, the incoming chair of the chamber’s board of directors, said the event serves as both a fundraiser and a celebration of the organization’s work.
“We use this as a fundraiser to raise funds so that we can stay laser-focused on job retention, job expansion and job creation,” Beach said. “It gives us the resources to make sure that we keep the economic engine and quality of life here in north Fulton moving forward.”
He said the gala also celebrates the work of the outgoing chairman, welcomes in the new chairman and honors award winners such as the board member of the year, the volunteer of the year and the citizen of the year.
Hardage said outgoing chairman Brad Beisbier will turn the gavel over to her that night. She said the gala is a chance for chamber members to come together and make connections.
She said some of the ongoing initiatives and committees of the chamber include: Progress Partners, the economic development arm for the six cities of north Fulton; the workforce development task force, which examines workforce needs; the health care task force, which deals with the new changes in health care insurance; and the education committee, which links businesses to local schools to increase the quality of education in north Fulton.
In addition to chamber members, Beach said other notable guests are expected to be in attendance.
“We’re going to have some very special guests: the governor [and] the lieutenant governor. We’re hoping to have one of our U.S. senators there. U.S. Congressman Tom Price is coming. Also we will have a lot of leaders in the community and executives in the community.”
