The Community Assistance Center will host its second Food ’n Fun Festival, an outdoor, family event with activities and games for all ages, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morgan Falls Athletic Complex in Sandy Springs.

Based in Sandy Springs, the center assists those in need in both that city and Dunwoody with financial support, helping to meet basic needs and promoting self-reliance. It works to prevent homelessness and hunger locally with the support of the community.

The center is encouraging teams, including families, and individuals to participate in the festival. The event will raise awareness and funds and collect food to combat hunger and homelessness in a fun setting.

It will include a community-wide food drive contest, a hunger awareness walk, a shopping cart decoration contest and parade, sports and fitness events for kids, a cake walk and a children’s zone with games and activities. Awards will be given to teams who collect the most food and have the best decorated shopping carts.

The characters Harry the Hawk, G.I. Johnny U.S. Army, the Fidelity Bank Lion and Kung Fu Panda also will be in attendance.

Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 14 and under. Attendees are requested to bring one or more cans of food to help fill the center’s food pantry.
