The St. Francis senior finished her high school career with a second consecutive 800-meter run title, winning the Class A private school crown with a time of two minutes, 20.31 seconds at the GHSA state meet in Albany last Saturday.
It was the second state title in a row for Davis, who won the 800 with a time of 2:20.86 at last year’s state meet.
Davis also made a serious championship run in the Class A private school 400, where she finished third in 59.75 seconds.
She qualified for the state meet by winning both the 400 (58.01 seconds) and 800 (2:22.72) at the Class A private schools sectionals at Landmark Christian in Fairburn April 26.
Davis also won the 400 (59.44 seconds) and 800 (2:21.60) at the Area 4A private school meet at Whitefield Academy in Mableton April 16.
“Jade is a tremendous track athlete,” St. Francis coach Aisha Kennedy said. “Jade brings tremendous leadership to the track program. Being the only senior girl on the team, she has led the younger girls all season.”
Davis has also been a key player for the St. Francis girls’ basketball team, helping lead the Lady Knights to the Class A private school state title last year. She has signed a letter-of-intent for basketball with West Florida.
