Larry King, the veteran broadcaster, journalist and retired host of CNN’s “Larry King Live,” Friday endorsed Loretta Lepore for the District 54 Georgia House of Representatives seat.

In a recorded message delivered to voters in Buckhead and historic Brookhaven King said, “I know Loretta Lepore and she is not only an accomplished professional but she is also a genuinely caring and selfless individual. Her record of involvement, her intelligence and her dedication make her a standout candidate. On May 20th, vote Loretta Lepore so she can be your voice.”

Lepore and three other Republican candidates — Beth Beskin, Angelic Moore and John McCloskey — are running for the seat being vacated by incumbent Ed Lindsey, who is running for the District 11 U.S. House post.

Lepore, owner of Lepore Associates LLC, an Atlanta communications firm, is a former CNN reporter and anchor. She earned a national news Emmy for her role in the network’s coverage of the 1996 Olympic Park bombing.

Lepore also has been endorsed by Craig Lesser, former commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development; District 50 State Rep. Lynne Riley, R-Johns Creek; District 3 Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann; Bob Shaw, former chairman of the Georgia Republican Party and the Fulton County Republican Party; and Val Betz, past president of the Georgia Federation of Republican Women.
