“We began to take a long look at additional changes to hours after hearing from the general public that they wanted more access,” Eaves said.
As a result of county budget cuts, hours at county libraries were reduced following the January passage of the fiscal 2014 budget. Under the proposal, county libraries would not add more staff or hours but shift hours of operation at some locations. While decisions are still pending on which branches will be impacted, the goal of the changes is to provide library facilities to patrons in all areas of the county.
If implemented, the changes could take effect as early as Aug. 1.
