Following Tuesday's primary and special election, Fulton County has a new commissioner in its newly created north Fulton district. Bob Ellis, of Milton, beat out Eric Broadwell, of Roswell, with nearly two-thirds of the votes.

In at-large District 7, the battle for the chairman's seat, incumbent John Eaves barely kept his seat against Robb Pitts with 50.4 percent, unless there is a recount. Eaves will face Republican Earl Cooper in November.

Roswell's municipal judge race will head into a runoff July 22, with Brian Hansford, who finished the evening with 40 percent of the votes, facing off against Melanie Ellwanger, who had 32 percent. Candidates Leslie Donaho and John Monroe had 13 and 16 percent of the votes, respectively.
