James Blyth helped uphold the defensive end for Roswell in its march to the Class AAAAAA state boys’ lacrosse championship.

The senior defender was a key performer in Roswell’s 6-5 victory over Lambert in the AAAAAA title game last Saturday, anchoring a defense that held a Lambert team that was averaging about 10 goals a game in the postseason to half that total.

With Blyth playing a large role, the Hornet defense has given up only about six goals a game throughout the entire season.

For Roswell coach Alex Chrzanowski, Blyth has brought leadership and a strong work ethic to the AAAAAA champions as well as his formidable defensive skills. “James is a great leader on and off the field,” Chrzanowski said. “We have counted on James all season to lock off the other team’s offense. He brings a lot of experience to the team and we are happy to have him as a mentor to the younger guys.

“You can tell the guys who put in the work in the offseason and James is definitely one of them.”
