“I think the team did an outstanding job,” Fields said. “The playoffs were one of the most memorable experiences of my career and I played with a great group of guys.”
The Wolfpack defeated Pope and Flowery Branch in the playoffs before dropping two games to Houston County on May 13, ending its season.
“When we came here as freshmen, we didn’t have much, including jerseys,” Fields said. “This place has come a long way and Coach [Dennis] Jordan has done an exceptional job of bringing us up and setting a high standard.”
Fields was a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team, Distributive Education Clubs of America and Fellowship of Christian Athletes at North Paulding.
Fields has decided to conclude his baseball career and pursue sports business at Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y.
“I had an opportunity to play college baseball in the Southeast but feel my calling is to head to the Northeast,” he said.
Fields will major in business administration and pursue an internship at the National Football League office in New York City.
