Atlanta Public Schools having four-day summer work weeks

Atlanta Public Schools announced Monday in a news release it has started a pilot program involving a summer four-day workweek beginning Monday and ending July 18.

Most district facilities, including the Center for Learning and Leadership, will be closed on the following Fridays: June 6, 13, 20 and 27 and July 4, 11 and 18. The district will also be closed July 3 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. All district summer programs will continue as scheduled.

During the four-day summer pilot, employees will work their full workweek in a compressed schedule Monday through Thursday, extending their days and providing work-life balance opportunities on Fridays for travel and recreation, continuing education and volunteerism.

District offices will resume normal operation hours the week of July 21.
