One southbound lane of Westside Parkway in Alpharetta will remain closed for several days.

The subject closure effects the outside travel lane in an area located just south of the intersection with Cumming Street. While the closure effects a span of less than 100 feet, some traffic slowdowns and congestion will result.

A traffic accident in which a vehicle struck a fire hydrant resulted in damage to the hydrant and underlying water line. The resulting leak damaged the roadway, making the section unsafe for vehicle travel.

Fulton County has advised the City that they will be unable to repair the water line until sometime next week. Until those repairs have been completed, the city of Alpharetta is unable to repair the roadway and reopen it for vehicular travel.
