The city of Johns Creek is currently in the process of establishing its 2014 millage rate and has set three hearings for public opinion on the process: June 16 at 11:30 a.m.; June 16 at 6 p.m.; and July 14 at 7 p.m.

All citizens are invited to attend and participate in the public hearings which will be held at Johns Creek City Hall, Council Chambers located at 12000 Findley Road, Suite 300, Johns Creek.

Action to adopt the final millage rate for 2014 is scheduled to take place at the Council Meeting on Monday, July 14, which begins at 7 p.m. or as close thereafter as possible following the public hearing.

The city, incorporated in December 2006 now has a published Five-Year History of its Tax Digest, Property Revenues and Millage Rate.

Each year, the Board of Tax Assessors is required to review the assessed value for property tax purposes of taxable property in the County.

When the trend of prices on properties recently sold in the County indicate an increase in the fair market value of any specific property, the Board of Tax Assessors is required by law to re-determine the value of such property and adjust the assessment. This is called a reassessment.
