A new men’s salon in Brookhaven is focusing on providing a professional grooming experience in an upscale environment.

18|8 Fine Men’s Salon opened for business several weeks ago in suite 1140 in the Town Brookhaven residential and commercial complex and owner Skip Plesnarski said the salon aims to provide men with a high level of service along with a stylish haircut.

“We want to create a relaxing, pampering environment for our customers and allow them to have an upscale experience as soon as they come in,” he said.

Customers are treated to a beer, wine or soda in a lounge area while they wait for their stylist and are then provided a robe and semi-private station for their services.

The salon offers a wide range of options including haircuts, manicures, straight-edge razor shaves, facials, skin and hair treatments and more.

Plesnarski said the semi-private stations allow customers to try services they may be curious about in the comfort of a salon catered to men.

“Our setup allows customers to receive the services they want within their own confines,” he said. “If a guy wants to get hair coloring or would like a manicure without going to a women’s salon, he does so in privacy.”

The salon offers package deals including a “classic” option, which includes a scalp massage, cleansing and conditioning, professional cut and style and aromatic hot towel finish. An “executive” option includes the classic features plus a neck and shoulder massage and nose or ear grooming.

Plesnarski said he feels opening the salon in Town Brookhaven was the right choice because of the location and convenience for many residents.

“Brookhaven is a fast-growing community and this type of salon is for discerning customers who want special treatment, who want to be pampered and are willing to pay a little bit more for those services,” he said. “So far, I’ve gotten many customers from upstairs or across the street and what they love about Town Brookhaven is that it is a one-stop shop for everything. So when we compared what the potential was here to some of the other commercial properties we looked at, it really became clear that this is where we wanted to be.”
