Manous will serve out the reminder of his term, which expires on Dec. 31, 2016. He will resume his position on the board at its next meeting on Aug. 12.
“I appreciate the confidence the board has shown in me by selecting me to fulfill my term,” Manous said. “I look forward to serving on the board of education and continuing to advocate for the children of Paulding County for a long time.”
Board member Theresa Lyons said, “We had four excellent candidates apply for this position." “We appreciate their interest and it was a difficult decision. Mr. Manous was duly elected in the 2012 election. Given his demonstrated care and passion for the students in Paulding County, we are giving him the opportunity to fill the term for the position he was elected.”
Superintendent Cliff Cole said, “We’re very lucky to have a board that puts the interests of our students first.
"We’re looking forward to having Mr. Manous return to the board to complete his term.”
Manous, the owner of a commercial furniture business, lost to Vernon Collett for the commission's Post 3 seat in the May 20 Republican primary. Collett is unopposed in the November general election.
