Police reports of note from the Atlanta Police Department Zone 2, which includes Buckhead, July 6 through July 12, and the Sandy Springs Police Department, July 10 through 16.

Provided by Atlanta Police Officer L. Illery and Sandy Springs Capt. Steve Rose

o HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD: At the 5500 block of Roswell Road in Sandy Springs July 12, a 29-year-old man told police he arrived at his home around 9 p.m. after being out and having some drinks. His girlfriend, waiting at home, was upset. He said she got “amped up” and head-butted him, knocking out his front teeth.

o DATE NIGHT: At 6800 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs July 13, police officers responding to a call were told a man was trying to steal a purse from a woman. They discovered this was a domestic argument. The woman was sitting in a Ford Explorer crying and the male was outside holding the woman’s purse. The male and female both said nothing was wrong. The officer entered the male’s and female’s names on the Georgia Crime Information Center computer. The results showed the male was wanted in DeKalb County for failure to appear on traffic charges. He was arrested and sent to DeKalb.

o HOT HEAD: At Wingate Way in Sandy Springs July 15, police were called to an apartment, where they spoke with a woman who said she was being harassed by a neighbor who made threats. The male suspect was yelling at her as she parked her car, telling her that her music is too loud and he will “have his revenge.” The officer spoke to the man, who was belligerent by way of yelling and “getting into the face” of the officer. After refusing to calm down as directed, the man was arrested at the scene.

o SCREAM-AWAY: At 1715 Howell Mill Road in west Buckhead July 8, the owner of a white 1995 Jeep Cherokee parked in the Howell Mill Square parking lot witnessed a black male inside the vehicle and screamed at him. The suspect exited the SUV and left the scene in a green van parked next to the victim’s vehicle.

o COLOGNE CROOK: At 1801 Howell Mill Road in west Buckhead July 10, store employees told police a black male wearing an orange vest and khaki pants entered the location and asked for assistance. While helping the suspect, a clerk was holding two bottles of Jimmy Choo cologne in her hand. The suspect snatched one of the bottles and fled the store.

The names and charges above are from area arrest warrants and crime reports. A warrant is merely an accusation of a crime and accused people are innocent until proven guilty.
