Dispatch advised that three calls were made from the home from a distraught crying female and the calls would disconnect. When entering the home the officers made contact with the female who was armed with a handgun. Officer's made several attempts to have the female drop the weapon and one of officers was forced to fire upon the female, striking her once. The victim was transported to Piedmont Henry Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 5:27 pm. No other persons were in the home. Her husband, who had also contacted 911 concerning his wife while enroute to the home, arrived shortly after the shooting incident.
