The bakery is in the heart of downtown Tucker at 2316 Main St. It offers a variety of cupcakes, whole cakes, croissants, coffee and more.
Dayoub, who has been baking all of her life, said she always knew she would one day open a business. After being laid off and turning 40, that day came sooner than she expected, but not without preparation.
“I had already incorporated [the business] and decided we’re [my husband and I] working for ourselves,” she said. “We were in a position where I could try and I thought, ‘well, here it is.’”
Even in her short time on Main Street, Dayoub said her bakery’s offerings have changed frequently. She said she has settled on a menu she likes for the moment. However, she said listening to customers is key to keeping her business fresh and successful.
“We change our menu based on customer demand,” said Dayoub. Staying the same is not a way to run a successful business, she added.
Many of the recipes were formed before the business opened, and some are inspirations from things Dayoub said she sees on the Internet. For example, her new treat, the Duffin, came from a recipe she found online. It is a muffin shape, with a doughnut texture. The inside is hollowed out and features a mix of flavors — lemon curd and pastry cream, raspberry and pastry cream or ganache and pastry cream.
Other new items include chocolate croissants, ham and cheese croissants, tarts and pies. Dayoub also introduced whole cakes, due to customer demand. Cake sizes range from four to eight inches. For those customers who would like gluten-free treats, Dayoub said she makes those on special order in only chocolate and vanilla flavors. However, she does not make sugar-free items.
The bakery also features a party room for children’s parties that seats up to 12. Parents pick a theme and colors, and Dayoub and her staff provide the decorations. Each child receives a chef’s hat to decorate, along with a box to hold their four cupcakes made on site. The children get to decorate the cupcakes based on the theme chosen with several options of frosting, sprinkles and more.
For now, Dayoub said she is content with growing this location and making it the best it can be and maybe years down the line, she will think of expanding.
