In his first career start, North Paulding junior quarterback Kyle Banks had a memorable debut, throwing for 309 yards and four touchdowns in the Wolfpack’s 55-20 victory over Creekview in the Corky Kell Classic at McEachern High School on Aug. 22. Banks’ dominant performance included a rushing score as well.

“Kyle is a leader on and off the field,” coach Scott Jones said. “He showed the poise of a veteran quarterback, made some excellent throws and led the offense with confidence.”

The game was televised on Fox Sports South.

“It was a great experience playing on TV in front of a lot of people,” Banks said. “We played well as a team together.”

North Paulding’s 55 points are the most given up by a Creekview defense in over a year.

“We had a good game plan and the coaches got us ready for it,” Banks said. “We executed and played to the best of our ability.”

The victory served notice to the rest of the region that North Paulding should be a postseason contender.

“We have some big rivalry games coming up and want to play our best,” Banks said.

Banks is also a standout lacrosse player for the Wolfpack, scoring 69 goals with 30 assists last season. He is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Distributive Education Clubs of America.

North Paulding returns to action on Friday at Allatoona.
