Brian Moore definitely picked up where he left off from his successful 2013 season in Cambridge’s first two games of the 2014 season

The senior quarterback completed 14 of 23 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 45 yards and two more scores to lead the Bears to a convincing 42-6 season-opening victory over Holy Innocents’ Aug 22.

Moore stepped up again in Cambridge’s 42-12 win over Chapel Hill Friday, completing 21 of 29 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 31 yards and a score.

It has been more of the same for Moore, who showed similar proficiency last year with 2,160 yards passing and 560 yards rushing as a junior.

“He fits the mold – and I’m not comparing him – but he fits the mold of Johnny Manziel,” Cambridge coach Craig Bennett said. “He can run around and make plays. He can definitely throw the ball, as we’ve seen. He’s a great runner, too. He’s a great athlete. He can give the defense problems. He competes at everything for us and brings a lot of leadership for us on offense.”
