The senior quarterback completed 14 of 23 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 45 yards and two more scores to lead the Bears to a convincing 42-6 season-opening victory over Holy Innocents’ Aug 22.
Moore stepped up again in Cambridge’s 42-12 win over Chapel Hill Friday, completing 21 of 29 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 31 yards and a score.
It has been more of the same for Moore, who showed similar proficiency last year with 2,160 yards passing and 560 yards rushing as a junior.
“He fits the mold – and I’m not comparing him – but he fits the mold of Johnny Manziel,” Cambridge coach Craig Bennett said. “He can run around and make plays. He can definitely throw the ball, as we’ve seen. He’s a great runner, too. He’s a great athlete. He can give the defense problems. He competes at everything for us and brings a lot of leadership for us on offense.”
